After using the tomato and basil sauce as the base for a sausage sauce for penne, I will never make a "start from scratch" tomato sauce again. I added pre-cooked mild Italian sausage, shallots, garlic, wine and a little red pepper to the sauce. My guests thought dinner was excellent. I could have kept it a secret that I used Bertolli for the base of my sauce but I shared it with them and they too are buying Bertolli.

They were having a taste test at our local supermarket and my wife loved it. She was somewhat skeptical before trying it since she cans her own sauce from our garden during the summer. We both thought it was the best store-bought sauce we ever had.
